How Much Does a Commercial
Security System Cost?
Every business is different, so every security system is priced differently. But you deserve to know what drives cost before you talk to anyone. Here are the price ranges and cost factors for commercial security systems in Ohio — no guessing, no pressure.
Commercial Security Price Ranges
These ranges reflect typical Ohio commercial installations. Your actual cost depends on your facility, needs, and the specific system design we recommend after a free walk-through.
Security Camera System
Commercial IP camera system with recording, remote viewing, and professional installation. Cost depends on the number of cameras, site size, indoor/outdoor coverage, and recording storage requirements.
What Drives Cost
- Number of cameras (4-camera small office vs. 20+ camera warehouse)
- Indoor vs. outdoor cameras and environmental housing needs
- Recording storage duration (7, 30, or 90+ days)
- Network infrastructure and cabling requirements
- Analytics features (license plate recognition, line crossing, loitering detection)
Video Alarm System
Intelligent camera detection with professional video verification, live audio intervention, and a defined response plan. Adds proactive protection to your camera system — helps change the outcome while it matters.
What Drives Cost
- Number of Video Alarm cameras and coverage zones
- Integration with existing camera infrastructure
- Monitoring plan (professional verification and intervention)
- Mobile app and alert configuration
- Site-specific detection rules and response plans
Access Control System
Card readers, mobile credentials, electric locks, and cloud management for commercial doors. Cost depends on the number of doors, credential type, and integration with existing systems.
What Drives Cost
- Number of controlled doors (single door vs. multi-door facility)
- Credential type (cards, fobs, mobile credentials, biometric)
- Cloud management vs. on-premise controller
- Electric lock hardware and door prep requirements
- Integration with cameras, intrusion, or fire alarm systems
Intrusion / Security System
Commercial intrusion detection for doors, windows, overhead doors, and motion with professional alarm monitoring. Cost depends on the number of sensors, monitoring plan, and integration needs.
What Drives Cost
- Number of door, window, and motion sensors
- Monitoring plan (24/7 professional central station)
- Integration with cameras or access control
- Control panel and keypad requirements
- Cellular vs. internet communication path
Fire Alarm System
Commercial fire alarm installation, service, monitoring, testing, and inspections. Cost varies widely based on building size, occupancy type, and code requirements. DLM is an Ohio fire alarm licensed contractor.
What Drives Cost
- Building size and number of detection devices
- Occupancy type (office, retail, warehouse, healthcare)
- Code compliance requirements (NFPA, local AHJ)
- Monitoring plan and central station connection
- Annual testing and inspection requirements
Networking, WiFi & Cabling Infrastructure
Commercial network cabling, indoor and outdoor WiFi coverage, and point-to-point wireless links connecting buildings or extending coverage across a property. Cost depends on site size, cabling distances, access point count, and environmental requirements.
What Drives Cost
- Indoor WiFi access points and coverage area
- Outdoor WiFi and weather-rated access point hardware
- Point-to-point wireless links between buildings
- Network cabling runs (Cat6/Cat6a/fiber) and pathway work
- Switches, mounting, and environmental enclosures
DLM Cloud Cam
Simple cloud cameras — no NVR required
A straightforward cloud camera package for smaller facilities that need a quick fix to site visibility — without the cost or complexity of a full NVR-based system. Cameras record straight to the cloud, you view them from your phone, and installation is fast.
Exclusions apply — non-standard mounts, long cable runs, or difficult wiring may add cost. Final pricing confirmed during a quick site walk-through.
DLM Cloud Access Control
Upgrade your existing access system to modern cloud control
Modernize an outdated card-access system without automatically replacing everything at the doors. DLM can evaluate your existing readers, electric locks, wiring, power supplies, and door hardware to determine what can be reused while upgrading the system to modern cloud-based access control.
Existing equipment compatibility must be verified during a site assessment. Door hardware repairs, damaged cabling, specialty locking hardware, and non-standard conditions may add cost.
DLM Interior Video Alarm
Video-verified intrusion protection for inside your business
Traditional alarm systems typically tell you that a sensor was triggered. DLM Interior Video Alarm adds visual verification, allowing alarm activity inside your business to be associated with actual camera footage so suspicious activity can be assessed more intelligently.
This is designed for businesses that want better intrusion protection without necessarily installing a completely separate traditional alarm system. In some facilities, DLM may be able to integrate compatible existing cameras after completing an onsite assessment.
Existing camera compatibility varies by manufacturer, model, network configuration, image quality, camera placement, and system condition. DLM must perform an onsite assessment before confirming whether existing cameras can be reused.
$60/month is the starting monthly service price for Interior Video Alarm. Installation, equipment, camera additions, network changes, specialty mounting, cabling, or system upgrades may be additional.
A Smarter Alternative to a Basic Interior Alarm
Traditional intrusion systems usually rely on door contacts, motion detectors, glass-break sensors, and other devices that report when something has been triggered. Those systems can be effective, but the alarm signal itself often provides very little context.
Interior Video Alarm adds visual information to the alarm event. Instead of only knowing that motion occurred, video can help show whether the cause was a person, employee, cleaning crew, delivery, animal, environmental movement, or potentially suspicious activity.
Traditional Alarm
- Door contact opens
- Motion detector activates
- Alarm signal is sent
- Limited visual context
- Separate camera review may be required
DLM Interior Video Alarm
- Camera detects or supports alarm activity
- Video provides visual context
- Events can be reviewed remotely
- Better understanding of what triggered the event
- Can use compatible existing cameras in some installations
Already Have Security Cameras?
You may not need to replace them.
DLM can perform a site assessment to evaluate whether some or all of your existing cameras are suitable for Interior Video Alarm service.
If the existing cameras can be reused, DLM will design the system around them where practical. If not, we'll explain exactly what needs to change and why.

Why We Show Ranges, Not Exact Prices
Every commercial building is different — different layouts, different risks, different operational needs. A 4-camera system for a small office is a very different project than a 20-camera system for a warehouse with perimeter coverage, analytics, and Video Alarm.
Publishing a single price would be misleading. Instead, we show honest ranges based on typical Ohio commercial installations, along with the specific factors that drive cost. This way you know what to expect before you talk to us — and you know we are not going to surprise you with hidden fees or unnecessary equipment.
The best way to get an accurate price is a free on-site walk-through. We assess your facility, listen to your concerns, and design a system that fits your needs and budget. No pressure, no obligation — just honest recommendations from a local Ohio security company.
