10-Door Access Control Retrofit for a Dayton Warehouse
A local Dayton warehouse was locked out of its own access control system after the aging platform stopped working entirely. DLM pre-programmed a new Ubiquiti access control system in-office, then deployed it on-site in a single coordinated cutover — getting the facility back online with minimal downtime.
An Access Control System That Simply Stopped Working
The warehouse's access control platform had reached end of life and failed completely — leaving the facility with no way to manage doors, credentials, or who had access to the building.
Aged Access Control System Had Failed
The warehouse was relying on an aging access control platform that had simply stopped working. Doors could no longer be reliably locked or unlocked, credentials could not be updated, and the facility had no way to manage who was coming and going.
No Way to Manage Credentials
With the old system dead, the customer had lost the ability to add, remove, or change user credentials. Former employee access could not be revoked, and new hires could not be badged in — a serious security and operational liability.
Downtime Was Not an Option
A warehouse cannot shut down for days while a new access system is wired up. The customer needed a clean switch to a new platform with as little operational disruption as possible.
Pre-Programmed in Office. Deployed in One Clean Cutover.
DLM built and pre-programmed the entire new Ubiquiti access control system in-office before ever stepping foot on-site. Every controller, reader, and credential profile was configured and tested ahead of time — so the on-site work was a fast, coordinated cutover rather than a multi-day disruption.
Because the system was ready to go live the moment it was installed, the warehouse was able to switch from the dead legacy platform to the new managed access system with limited downtime and no loss of credential control.
Scope of Work
- 10-door Ubiquiti access control retrofit across the facility
- New Ubiquiti door controllers and readers at every access point
- Pre-programming of the full system in-office before installation
- Coordinated on-site cutover to minimize operational downtime
- Credential migration and user provisioning on the new platform
- Centralized cloud-managed access control dashboard
- Removal and disposal of the dead legacy access hardware
Ubiquiti Access Control, Deployed the Right Way
Ubiquiti Access Control
Ten access points across the warehouse were retrofitted with Ubiquiti door controllers and readers — a modern, cloud-managed platform with remote credential control, audit trails, and long-term manufacturer support.
Pre-Programmed Build
The full system was assembled, configured, and tested in DLM's office before installation. Controllers were provisioned, reader mappings were set, and credential profiles were ready — so on-site work was installation, not troubleshooting.
Downtime Cutover
Because the system was pre-programmed, the on-site deployment was a single coordinated cutover. The warehouse switched from the dead legacy platform to the new Ubiquiti system with limited downtime and no gap in access control.
A Warehouse Back in Control of Its Doors
After the cutover, the customer had a fully operational, cloud-managed access control system across all 10 doors — with credentials restored, remote management in place, and a platform built to last.
