Storage Facility Emergency Access Restoration & Security Design
An electrical surge destroyed this Dayton storage facility's access system, locking everyone out. DLM completed an emergency response — entering through a rooftop window to open the doors and temp-fixing two doors to restore access. DLM then designed a proposed 9-door PDK Cloud access system and 50-camera surveillance build with 9 AI video alarm cameras to address the years of break-ins, theft, and vandalism. The proposed design has not yet been installed.
Locked Out. DLM Got Them Back In.
When an electrical surge destroyed the facility's access control system, every door was dead and no one could enter the building. DLM responded immediately.
Surge Fried the Access System — Total Lockout
An electrical surge destroyed the facility's existing access control system. On DLM's arrival, every employee was locked out and no one could enter the building. The entire access infrastructure was dead with no way in.
Years of Break-Ins, Theft & Vandalism
The storage facility had suffered repeated break-ins, theft, and vandalism over the years. People had even broken in and attempted to live inside the buildings. The site had no effective deterrent or way to catch or stop intruders.
Out-of-State Owners Needed Remote Control
The facility's owners were based out of state and had no way to manage access, monitor the property, or respond to incidents remotely. They needed a system they could control and see from anywhere.
Rooftop Entry to Open the Doors
With the building fully locked out, DLM worked with the store manager and climbed onto the roof to enter the building through a rooftop window. Once inside, the team opened the doors from the interior so staff could get back in. DLM then temp-fixed two doors so the facility could continue operating while the full replacement system was designed and installed.
Proposed PDK Cloud Access Control + 50 Cameras + AI Video Alarm
DLM designed a proposed complete security overhaul for the facility. A proposed 9-door PDK Cloud access control system would give the out-of-state owners remote management of every door from anywhere. A proposed 50-camera surveillance build would provide full coverage across the entire property — inside and out.
To directly address the years of break-ins, theft, and people attempting to live inside, 9 of those cameras would be AI video alarm cameras. They would actively monitor for intruders, talk down to them over a speaker to tell them to leave, and automatically dispatch police if they do not. This is active, proactive security — not passive recording.
Scope of Work
- Proposed 9-door PDK Cloud access control system with remote management
- Proposed 50-camera full-facility security camera coverage, interior and exterior
- Proposed 9 AI video alarm cameras with proactive talk-down and police dispatch
- Proposed DLM Video Alarm monitoring services on all AI cameras
- Temporary repair of 2 doors to restore facility access on day one
- Rooftop entry to unlock the building during the lockout
- Cloud-based remote control for out-of-state ownership
- Full perimeter coverage across the entire storage facility
Three Proposed Systems. One Integrated Design.
PDK Cloud Access Control
Nine access points proposed for PDK Cloud, which would give the out-of-state owners full remote control of every door. Credentials, schedules, and lock/unlock would all be managed from anywhere — something the old surge-destroyed system could never do.
DLM Video Alarm Services
Nine AI video alarm cameras would actively monitor for intruders. When someone enters a restricted area, the system would talk down to them over a speaker, tell them to leave, and dispatch police if they do not — stopping break-ins and squatters in real time, not after the fact.
DLM Security Cameras
A proposed 50-camera system would provide full coverage across the entire facility — interior corridors, exterior perimeters, gates, and storage areas. No blind spots, complete visibility, and recorded evidence of every event on the property.
A Proposed Plan to Help the Facility Fight Back
The facility went from a total lockout and years of unchecked break-ins to a designed, cloud-managed, actively monitored security plan — controllable by out-of-state owners and capable of stopping intruders before damage is done.
